Weekend litter louts have been slammed for leaving a “disgusting” mess at Southport Pier.
Graham Sarson said crisp packets, food packaging and empty cups and bottles were left strewn across the seafront after a busy Saturday.

He said: "Pleasureland has just reopened for the Easter Holidays and many visitors will pass through our promenade and pier on days like today (Sunday).
"There is rubbish everywhere and the bin is still overflowing from yesterday. It's disgusting.

"I couldn’t see another bin close by so its no surprise this one is full.
"This would be fine if they were getting emptied regularly but clearly they aren't. Birds and other creatures have obviously been going through it all."
One woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, said: “I’m raging, what sort of impression does this give visitors?”
A spokesman for Sefton Council said: "Over the weekend Southport seafront was extremely busy with Pleasureland reopening for the Easter Holidays and the warm weather.

"This led to increased pressure on our cleansing team in relation to some seafront litter bins. These bins were emptied by Sunday evening.
"Of course, where a bin is full, we would always ask people to keep hold of their litter and either take it home or use an alternative bin elsewhere."
