Angels honor Tyler Skaggs, throw combined no-hitter during emotional night

The Los Angeles Angels returned to Angel Stadium Friday night for the team’s first home game since the death of pitcher Tyler Skaggs, and every player wore Skaggs’ No. 45 for what turned out to be an incredible team performance. Skaggs’ family was in attendance, and his mother, Debbie, fired a strike for the first pitch.

What followed was nothing short of incredible. Angels pitchers Taylor Cole and Felix Pena combined to throw a no-hitter, and Mike Trout led the Angels offensively with six RBI in a lopsided 13-0 win.

After the game, the team left their No. 45 jerseys on the mound.
