Angelino makes RB Leipzig transfer admission after Man City UEFA ban

Angelino says Manchester City's Champions League ban could see him seek to leave the club permanently in the summer.

The left-back is on loan at RB Leipzig, where he is impressing in Julian Nagelsmann's title challenging side. The club have a €30m option to purchase Angelino permanently in the summer - something he has already said he would be open to.

Now, Angelino has been asked whether City's two-year ban from UEFA competition will affect his future at the club. City have registered an appeal against the ruling with the Court of Arbitration for Sport, and are confident they have done nothing wrong.

Nevertheless, Angelino says the prospect of going two seasons without Champions League football will be a deciding factor when it comes to assessing his future in the summer.

“I feel very comfortable in Leipzig. I have to focus on RB," he told SportBild (via SportWitness ).

“Of course [the ban will affect my future], this hits every club and every player hard.”

Angelino also admitted he is only now seeing just how much Pep Guardiola improved his game at City, as he has quickly adapted to Leipzig's attacking structure.

“In the past six months when I worked with him, I didn’t immediately understand where and how he improved me,” Angelino explained.

“Now when I watch videos of how I behave on the pitch for Leipzig, I see how he has made me better. I react much faster in situations and often have the best solution ready. I can’t explain that at all, I do it automatically.

“Julian [Nagelsmann] is like Pep. He works with us during the week and gives us the key actions. In the game it looks as if our game is very intuitive, but we got it implanted in large part beforehand."
