Angelina Jolie opens up about kids feeling 'confined' during Covid-19 pandemic

Angelina Jolie has suggested that children might be feeling 'confined' during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

The 45-year-old actress, who recently helped produce Disney's The One and Only Ivan, told Variety that the movie speaks to young people at this time.

The film centres on the story of a gorilla called Ivan that has spent his life in captivity, and is actually inspired by the story of a real silverback gorilla.

As well as producing the fantasy film, Angelina is also the voice over for the character Stella.

Angelina opened up to the publication about the larger themes of her new film project, which include confinement.

Speaking to Variety, the Tomb Raider actress made links between the film and the ongoing pandemic.

"There's something about the captivity of it too that I think was sadly speaking to children and helping each other through with feeling confined,' she said to the publication.

"I think it spoke to kids and touched at a good time."

Angelina shares kids Maddox, 19, Pax, 17, Zahara, 16, Shiloh, 14, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 12, with her ex Brad Pitt.

Earlier this month, the actress also revealed that she was living just five minutes away from her ex husband's house with their children.

Speaking to British Vogue earlier this month, the actress explained that she wanted the children to live close to their dad.

“I wanted it to be close to their dad, who is only five minutes away," she said.

“I felt a little pressure moving in. Like I had snuck into where DeMille and Chaplin would hang out.

She added: “I love most that there is no entertainment room, but lots of pathways and places to walk and think. I feel very fortunate we have that at this time.”
