This was one of those books that once you've read it you think, wow, I'm never going to be able to write that well. I'm never going to think up an idea that awesome. I'm never going to be able to think up such a great character. It was just downright impressive.
This book changed the way I look at things. I mean, who doesn't dream of the day loads of gorgeous evil angels come and take over the world? Apart from blokes obviously.
Before I read Angelfall, I was going through a kind of book block. I couldn't find a really good book to read. I was reading half of a book then chucking it across the room. To go along with that, my writing went down hill. I stopped having the motivation to write. Then my mum lost her patience with me and bought me this book on my Kindle (not product placement or anything).
This little bit of joy in the form of a book is about a girl called Penryn (love it) who lives in a world where angels have come down and tried to take over the world. When one of the angels takes her disabled sister, she is abandoned with her mental mother and an injured angel. Not good. She has to fight for her life to get her sister back. But what if she's already dead?
I was left speechless after this book. I can't say that it's my favourite of all time (Skulduggery's still up there) but it's pretty close. An absolute masterpiece. Five out of five!!!!
