Angela nominates mum, Eileen, for this weeks Say It With Flowers

Angela Docherty has nominated her mum, Eileen, for this week’s Say It With Flowers competition.

Angela thought that her mum deserved the award for remaining happy through her hard life.

She said: “She has been through so much. She had an aneurysm in her stomach and after the operation she fell ill with sepsis.

“We thought she wasn’t going to make it but she pulled through.”

When Angela fell pregnant, her mum was still in recovery from her illness.

“She had her life-changing operations and then I fell pregnant with my wee boy. She was so strong through it all for me and I am so thankful.”

Angela told us that ever since the birth of her little boy Hunter, who is now eight months, her mum has had a new lease of life.

“They go down Strathclyde Park on walks but he is still young so there isn’t all that much they can do.

“Whenever I need a break though she will take Hunter and look after him for the day. She deserves recognition so much.

“Hunter is like a breath of fresh air to my mum.”

And we were happy to help give that recognition, by providing this stunning bouquet, courtesy of Pixies Petal’s in Newmains.

Eileen is now retired but worked in Kirknowe Care Home as a supervisor before then.
