Angela Christian's Journey Through Entrepreneurship, Empowerment, and Creating Financial Literacy for All

The notion of empowerment has been a recurring theme across Angela Christian's life, echoing every decision she has ever made. Whether mentoring entrepreneurs across continents or guiding families toward financial stability, the CEO of Ace Rehoboth Consortium (ARC) has built her legacy on helping others realize their potential and protect it.

Her journey toward financial empowerment began with an entrepreneurship development study, designed to identify and nurture emerging entrepreneurs. "The study was based on the fact that entrepreneurs are not born; they can be made," she recalls. "So at a very early age, I got involved in identifying potential entrepreneurs and helping them sharpen their competencies to perform exceptionally well."

In her role as a trainer, she found herself travelling across the UK, where she immersed herself in business development and counselling. But her entrepreneurial instinct soon led her to start her own enterprise. "I was helping all these entrepreneurs set up their businesses, and I thought, it's time to put theory into practice," she says.

That realization sparked the founding of her first company: an employment agency in Africa. Through it, Christian built a bridge that aimed to give fresh graduates a kickstart toward their careers. "We set up a database of graduates and acted as the liaison between them and big corporations," she explains. "It was about identifying talent and placing them where they could thrive."

Her resounding success in workforce development eventually made her a prominent figure in Ghana, as she began catching the attention of regulatory organizations. She worked on various projects that aimed to close the unemployment gap before she moved to the US, where she continued her commitment to impact-driven projects.

She was selected to be part of a national committee as a project associate on the PEPFAR Project, an initiative addressing the impact evaluation of global HIV/AIDS, and worked on the African Science Academies Development Initiative, a project funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. "We went into countries to see how scientists could influence policy," she explains. "And to look for ways to bridge that gap between science and governance."

Yet, while protecting national assets through her later work in cybersecurity, Christian had an epiphany. "I realized I was busy protecting national assets, yet my own financial portfolio wasn't safeguarded," she says. "That was when I began to shift my focus."

That shift led to the inception of Ace Rehoboth Consortium (ARC), a firm rooted in financial advocacy and empowerment. "My goal is that everybody becomes financially literate because it will help you understand how your money can work for you, rather than you working for money," she says.

Through ARC, Christian and her team provide financial education, wealth management strategies, and vetted insurance solutions. The company's model allows her to offer clients the same tools traditionally reserved for the wealthy.

"We assess where people are financially, identify their goals, and create strategies to help them meet those goals," she explains. "In doing this, we're helping people to build wealth and protect income with the guiding principle that no family is left behind. We want everyone to be financially literate."

Aside from her work at ARC, Christian's advocacy also extends beyond business. She's participated in a weekly radio program aimed at helping listeners navigate financial challenges through practical, faith-informed principles.

Her mission also challenges the cultural norm of lifelong employment. "Our jobs are supposed to be temporary placeholders," she says. "If you work for 40 years and have nothing to show for it, you've essentially toiled for nothing. You have to find opportunities that give you leverage and multiple streams of income."

Through ARC, Christian is building both a mindset and a movement, hoping to see more people shift from financial dependence to empowerment. "Many people are still very employee-minded," she observes. "But there's more than 9-to-5. When you invest in building your dream, you can take control of your life. My life has been a testament to that."
