Angel Reese channeled Deion Sanders in response to LSU absence rumors

Angel Reese has been in headlines for all of the wrong reasons so far this college basketball season.

LSU’s star forward hasn’t played since the team’s win over Kent State back on Nov. 14. Since then, she hasn’t been seen on the team’s bench and she also didn’t travel with LSU for the Cayman Islands Classic.

As far as why Reese isn’t with the team, there’s no good answer out there for it. Kim Mulkey hasn’t given any details about Reese’s situation here. The only thing she’s told us is that Reese is still a member of the team. Meanwhile, rumors about Reese’s absence have spread like wildfire.

Reese has been uncharacteristically silent throughout this whole ordeal — until now.

She’s taken to social media to give a bit of a tepid response to all the rumors floating around about her. First, she sent a tweet urging people not to believe what they read. That was on Nov. 19.

More recently, she took to TikTok and used a soundbite from a Deion Sanders press conference to get her message across.

That message is this: She doesn’t care about the rumors.

Here’s what the soundbite says:

“Look at me. What about me would make you think that I care about your opinion of me? Your opinion of me is not the opinion that I have of myself. You ain’t make me, so you can’t break me. You didn’t build me, so you can’t kill me.”

So there’s that. That’s all we have from Reese so far. Hopefully, we’ll get some answers to this when the time comes.
