Angel Bay where you can see baby seals on a day out from Liverpool

If you enjoy exploring and getting up close to nature, there’s a place not far from Liverpool where you may be lucky enough to see seals and thier pups on the beach.

The day out requires a drive from Liverpool of just over an hour, into North Wales where you can find Angel Bay just along the coast between Rhos on Sea and Llandudno. At this time of year, it’s not uncommon to see seals and their pups from the grassy cliffs above and the beauty spot attracts visitors from far and wide.

The pupping season for grey seals usually starts around September to October in Wales so it’s the perfect time to see seal pups on the beaches. One visitor from Bristol who reviewed the spot on TripAdvisor, said: “We were told to go here to see the seals, wow it was amazing there was so many in there natural habitat.”

Another said: “Wow!!! How lucky we were to visit here just as the pupping season had started. We saw about 4 seals including one camouflaged on the beach. A brilliant experience and stunning, tranquil spot.”

Angel Bay can be found on the end of Little Orme and the main pupping season is around late October to early November, though you may be lucky to see them as early as September. The pups can be camouflaged by the large stones so take some binoculars to get a good look.

It’s also worth noting that the RSPB warns people should keep their distance from seals and their pups and respect that these are wild animals, with teeth like a dog that can lead to a nasty bite - even from the pups.
