Despite the title, Angel's debut album isn't exactly about the time this up 'n' coming UK R&B singer spent on remand before being acquitted of a crime he didn't commit. He's a lover, not a jailbird. And About Time capitalises on Sirach "Angel" Charles's backroom recording successes to date – tracks such as Roll Deep's Green Light, and Coming Home by Pixie Lott and Jason Derulo – with an album where the credit is, finally, all his. Regrettably, nothing here really bests his hard-but-soppy curio Wonderful, which went top 20 last year. The World, the current single, finds Auto-Tune piffle hitched unremarkably to clubby builds.
