Ange Postecoglou unloads on Celtic critics 'trying to push me off a ledge' as he blasts 'weird' Scottish mentality

Ange Postecoglou reckons Celtic 's critics are trying to "push him off a ledge."

But the defiant boss insists it's not going to happen that easily.

Postecoglou watched his side play out a 1-1 draw with Dundee United at Parkhead and it was the fourth time in just seven league games the Hoops have failed to win so far this term.

Liel Abada opened the scoring for Celtic but they were immediately pegged back by an Ian Harkes header.

And despite Abada, Jota and David Turnbull rattling the woodwork it wasn't to be for Postecoglou's team.

He was in no mood to feel sorry for himself however as he used the post-match interview to hit out at his critics.

He said: "I know people want to push me off some kind of ledge. It's not going to happen.

"I don't worry about those kinds of things. I'm focused on how my team's playing and what we're trying to create.

"I don't really know what people want me to say. I know what the club's about and what we're aiming for, I believe the road we've started on will get us there so we'll just keep going."

The result means Celtic sit six points behind leaders Rangers at the seven-game mark and occupy sixth spot in the table.

Their shaky start has brought their title credentials into question but Postecoglou insists it's a long way from over yet.

And he branded Scottish football "weird", given some are already starting to write his team off.

He went on: "It's a weird league. You call things early here don't you?

"It's quite remarkable. We're only seven games in and people are calling the title already over.

"It's just not how it works. I'm not pulling up stumps after seven games just because people think there's some kind of insurmountable challenge out there for us.

"If we weren't playing well I'd be looking at things differently. But with the efforts we're putting in, the football we're playing, the chances we're creating and the players we have to come back, I just see it differently."
