Ange Postecoglou would be a “raging success” if appointed as Celtic manager.
But there are doubts whether the former Australian national team boss is interested in a switch to the Scottish Premiership.
That’s according to Aussie agent Lou Sticca, who knows the 55-year-old well.
Sticca has previously represented formerCeltic striker Scott McDonald and is a big fan of the work Postecoglou is doing at Yokohama Marinos in Japan.
Postecoglou is reportedly the front runner for the vacancy after a drawn out attempt to appoint Eddie Howe was officially ended yesterday after talks broke down.
Sticca remains sceptical over whether the interest is genuine from either club or candidate, but is in no doubt his compatriot would do the business if he is the man to replace Neil Lennon.
He told the Daily Record : “For what it’s worth, I am not sure if Celtic is interested in Ange or if Ange is interested in Celtic.
“But if it’s true I can assure you Ange is a very smart operator who has had substantial success, winning titles in Australia from 1998 through to Japan in 2019 as well as the Asian Cup with National Team of Australian in 2015.
“He is a winner, full stop. He is worldly in terms of knowing the football landscape and would be under no illusions as who Celtic FC are and their history and what the pressures and expectations would be.
"Celtic fans are loyal but terribly demanding and Ange would know that. My personal opinion is Ange would be a raging success at Celtic.”
