Ange Postecoglou tells Celtic 'keep our pistols in our holsters' as boss lays out approach to title shootout

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou insists nothing will be decided in the title race in the coming matches as he warned "let's keep our pistols in our holsters".

Both they and Rangers face clashes with the Edinburgh clubs this midweek, with the leaders in action against Hibs at Easter Road on Wednesday night.

Hearts travel to Celtic 24 hours later, with the visitors knowing they'll go five points clear of the Jambos with a game in hand if they win.

Asked if that would confirm a two-way title fight though Postecoglou was in no mood to make any definitive statements.

He replied: "Statement games are at the back end of the year.

"Let’s just keep our pistols in our holsters for a little while."

The match is a re-run of the opening game of the season which saw Postecoglou lose his first Premiership match in charge.

Celtic will hope to set that right on Thursday but will have to do so without the injured Christopher Jullien.

Still no timeframe has been offered about the French centre-back’s return despite his comeback originally been earmarked for October.

However, Postecoglou has confirmed that both Nir Bitton and Tom Rogic are fit and available for match at Celtic Park.
