Ange Postecoglou knows international football is good for his Celtic players' confidence - but that doesn't change the fact it's "bloody stressful" for the Australian.
The Hoops face St Johnstone at Hampden in the Premier Sports semi-final on Saturday afternoon as they look to build on their promising form before the international break.
They also face Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League on Thursday in what is a huge week for Postecoglou and his team.
His players came through the international break with a clean bill of health and that was a relief for the Australian who hasn't had his troubles to seek with injuries this season.
He was asked at his press conference if it's satisfying to watch his players succeed on the international stage, after Josip Juranovic qualified for the World Cup with Croatia while Callum McGregor and Anthony Ralston were among the Scotland players who booked a playoff.
And he admitted it was good for his players - even if it wasn't good for him.
"It's bloody stressful, mate," he said. "I'm wishing they do well, but also crossing my fingers that nothing happens to them from a physical perspective.
"But I've always seen it as a positive thing. We've got Josip Juranovic qualifying for the World Cup so we've got one Celtic player who will be there next year.
"Hopefully he's joined by his Scotland counterparts if they get through the next phase.
"Obviously Kyogo and Tommy with their respective nations too.
"I've always seen it as a good thing. Obviously I've coached a national team, so I think it adds to a player's belief and confidence."
A victory over Saints would set up a final with either Rangers or Hibs and give the Hoops their first chance at silverware since they beat Hearts in the Scottish Cup final last year.
And Postecoglou called on his stars to "create something special" by sealing a big win against last season's cup double winners.
He added: "We want the players to experience big games and the consequences that come with big games.
"There's an obvious incentive to create something special for this group of players.
"I'm looking forward to it immensely. My understanding is that we'll pack it out as usual with our support.
"So it will be a really special atmosphere and I'm sure everyone will enjoy themselves."
