Ange Postecoglou reports for Celtic duty as new boss finally touches down in Glasgow

New Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has arrived in Glasgow.

The 55-year-old flew into Scotland on Wednesday morning with chief-executive Dominic McKay as he prepares to begin work on reviving the Parkhead club's fortunes.

Postecoglou will take charge of his first training session at Celtic's Lennoxtown base on Thursday.

Several squad members began their pre-season last week under the eye of John Kennedy and Gavin Strachan but now it's over to the new manager.

He was spotted in London over the weekend as he and McKay enjoyed a watching berth for Scotland's Euro 2020 draw with England at Wembley.

His official arrival marks an important step on the club's recovery, with all eyes on a Champions League qualifier against FC Midtjylland on July 20.

The new gaffer will take his players to a training camp in Wales on July 5.

Whilst there, Celtic will play friendlies against Sheffield Wednesday, Bristol City and Charlton Athletic.

Postecoglou will then make his first appearance at Celtic Park in another friendly against Preston North End on July 17.

The new Premiership campaign commences on July 31, with Celtic travelling to face newly-promoted Hearts at Tynecastle.
