Ange Postecoglou insists it's important for Celtic to rise above refereeing controversies.
But the Parkhead boss admitted to a "chuckle" at the reluctant outsiders on the fringes of a bust-up during his side's win over St Johnstone.
Tempers flared after Saints striker Chris Kane tangled with Cameron Carter-Vickers, appearing to take a kick at the Celtic defender on the floor as he protected the ball.
Both players were booked after the teams were separated and while Postecoglou was baffled his player was cautioned, he refused to dwell on the incident.
“It’s on the other side…I thought the referee handled it okay,” the Celtic manager said.
“People run in and they push and shove. I always have a chuckle at these things because some of those on the outskirts, I’m not sure how keen they are to get involved!
“I thought the referee handled it well. I couldn’t see why Cameron got the yellow card but I’m 50 yards away.
“Over my years in management I have learned that you let those things go as much as you can.
“You can go down that rabbit hole and end up pulling your hair out. I try to let the officials handle these things.
“It’s important we don’t get frustrated at these kind of things because they can eat away at you and we need to focus on what is important to us.”
Celtic racked up a 2-0 win thanks to goals from Giorgos Giakoumakis and Josip Juranovic.
A third Premiership win on the bounce moves the Parkhead to third, just a point behind Hearts and Rangers.
