Ange Postecoglou purrs over Celtic transfer trio as he promises they will wow fans

Ange Postecolgou insists Celtic are getting their trio of new signings at the peak of their powers after their Hogmanay triple transfer coup.

The Hoops boss says Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi are all hungry for success as he tools up for a title fight.

Postecoglou was critical of the time it took to get deals done during the summer transfer window but have been quick off the mark this time around.

Goal grabber Maeda played under Postecoglou at Yokohama F. Marinos and is just 24-years-old while Hatate is the same age and the versatile star arrives fresh from helping Kawasaki Frontale to a second successive J-League title.

Yosuke Ideguchi is 25 and was previously with Gamba Osaka where won the prestigious ‘Rookie of the Year’ award in 2016.

That helped him win a move to Leeds United where he had loan spells at Cultural Leonesa in Spain and then Greuther Furth in Germany before returning to Osaka.

Postecoglou told the Celtic website : “They are all really at the peak of their careers, ambitious to achieve more success and I am sure at this particular time we will be getting their best years.

"Clearly I am well aware of their attributes and I think in bringing all three to the club we are bringing even more quality, personality and energy to the squad to work with the players who have done so well for us already this season.

“I am delighted to have secured these players so early in the transfer window, I look forward to working with them and myself, my backroom team and the rest of the squad will be making sure we help them settle into Celtic as quickly as possible.

“We are really pleased to bring in these guys to Celtic and they are players who will excite our fans.”
