Ange Postecoglou in stinging Celtic response to BBC reporter's 'tough watch' question after St Mirren victory

Ange Postecoglou issued a stinging response to a BBC reporter who asked him if he thought their midweek win over St Mirren was a "tough watch."

The Celtic boss has developed a habit of telling the media just what's on his mind and he was in a mischievous mood after their 2-0 Premiership win.

Goals from Cameron Carter-Vickers and Callum McGregor got the job done but frustration amongst the fans had been audible before the American made the breakthrough.

BBC Sportsound's Kenny Macintyre asked the Aussie coach if he was satisfied with his team's display or if he felt they were flat by their usual standards

But Postecoglou jumped in, saying: "It depends what you're looking for, maybe you were disappointed with the way it went, mate.

"We've won a game 2-0 and they didn't create anything, we dominated the football and it's a lot harder when the opposition sit so deep.

"If anything I thought we were good, we were solid, stayed composed and did what we had to do to wear down an opposition that were sitting deep and defending well.

"They haven't conceded many goals this year so I felt we kept that composure well."

Postecoglou also had a pop at Macintyre - or perhaps the media in general - about their apparent 'calling of the league' a few months back when rivals Rangers were sitting pretty at the top of the Premiership table.

Asked if he expected a close run title race - like many others expect, according to Macintyre, the Hoops manager responded: "No you weren't.

"I have (accepted that) for a while but you guys had a different view early on.

"I still don't know how they've got on, mate. I don't care.

"It makes no difference to us, for us what is important is that we're winning games of football and we're going to be in good shape.

"I've said it all along, I wasn't looking at it when we were six or seven points behind and I'm not looking at it now.

"What's important is what we're doing. It's a big challenge again on Sunday, another tough game."
