Ange Postecoglou heading for Celtic as deal has 'been agreed' between club and manager

It looks like Ange Postecoglou is indeed heading for Celtic Park - with reports emanating from Japan claiming a deal has already been agreed.

Postecoglou emerged as a frontrunner for the vacant Hoops hot-seat on Friday evening, following the shock news that Eddie Howe had turned the role down - despite three months of negotiations with the Celtic board.

However, it seems talks with the club's second-choice has been a lot more straightforward, with Japanese-based journalist Scott McIntyre claiming that it's his understanding that Postecoglou will be the man to finally succeed Neil Lennon.

The only red tape that stands in the 55-year-old's way is the Hoops reaching an agreement with Postecoglou's current club, J-League side Yokohama F Marinos.

Lennon departed Parkhead after an awful season on February 24, and with a raft of Celtic 's most important players reportedly keen to leave, Postecoglou certainly has his work cut-out.

First-team players are due back at the Lennoxtown training complex on June 17, with the crucial Champions League qualifiers kicking-off in the first week of July.
