Ange Postecoglou hails 'positive' Kyogo Furuhashi as Celtic boss praises response to racism storm

Ange Postecoglou says Kyogo Furuhashi isn't letting footage of racist chanting on a Rangers supporter's bus get him down.

The Celtic star was the target of vile abuse in a video that circulated on social media after Rangers' defeat to Ross County.

Both clubs have since condemned the two fans involved with Rangers banning them from Ibrox and withdrawing future ticket allocations from the supporter's association.

The response to the situation has been overwhelmingly positive with fans from all corners and walks of life showing their support for Kyogo.

And Postecoglou says he's managing fine, and refusing to let the situation get to him.

He told Sky Sports: "Kyogo is good, he's a very positive young man and he understands that this kind of behaviour directed towards him is a kind of thing that a lot of people have to deal with.

"He's not going to let that tarnish his whole experience here because if you speak to him I'm sure he'd say that he's loving every bit of being part of this football club and living in this country."

Postecoglou also praised the swift response from Rangers and various shows of solidarity that have been on social media since the incident came to light.

He went on: "It's what should happen, I said it that it's not about education.

"If you do something wrong, just deal with it and deal with the person involved, make it clear that it is unacceptable.

"Make it clear that as a sport, as a club, as a nation it's not acceptable and put it where it belongs.

"Just move on with life and make sure that people understand that we're not going to spend time debating these things, people know.

"Don't do the wrong thing. Treat people with the same respect that you'd like to be treated with.

"We can't be sidelined into long conversations about these things anymore."
