Ange Postecoglou fired Celtic 'backstabbers' warning ahead of Parkhead arrival

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has been fired a warning over ‘backstabbers’ waiting to pounce.

The new gaffer will take charge of Celtic for training this week before a pre-season camp in Wales, and then his first official game in the Champions League.

They’ll take on Midtjylland in July but he’s been told to be aware of critics who will get stuck into him if things aren’t going brilliantly.

Australia legend Paul Wade reckons there will always be people looking to criticise him at Celtic Park and was shocked by a an incident on the radio.

Reported by the Daily Record, he said: "I refer to former Australia manager Eddie Thomson. He said, 'You surround yourself with people, people you trust, so that there's nobody behind you with a knife'.

"There are so many people in Scotland with knives just dying to stab him.

"I was listening to someone from Radio Five Live in Britain...he's laughing and saying 'Who is this Ange Post-e-cog-lou?'

"What an absolute disgrace. It's because of people like him that's going to make the job very difficult for Ange.

"If he can just remain confident that the players can actually deliver than he will do very well.

"But he's got to look out for that. If Ange is saying things at press conferences he's got to be strong enough to say you know what, I'm a coach and I'm just trying to win football matches.

"If he can keep thinking that, he'll be able to deal with the pressure."
