Ange Postecoglou Celtic press conference in full as he insists training methods are misinterpreted amid injury struggles

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou insists he's not sending his squad up the Campsies when he talks about "training hard".

And ahead of a trip to Ross County with yet another injury to contend with, the boss isn't interested in theories about the club's sports science department.

Postecoglou was forced to play without a recognised striker against Motherwell with Kyogo, Albian Ajeti and Giorgos Giakoumakis all out.

Kyogo is being assessed on a day-to-day basis and there's still a chance he could miss the Premier Sports Cup Final.

The latest player to be sidelined however is James Forrest, who was brought off after just 18 minutes against the Steelmen while other absences include Jota and Anthony Ralston.

Postecoglou, while he admits some of those injuries are as a result of his hard training, insists some observers misinterpret his methods.

He said: "This experience is not unusual for my first year at any club. My background in Australia is heavily influenced by sports science, it's very prevalent in sport in Australia.

"I think sometimes people misinterpret when I say we train hard.

"(We've not got them) running up and down the hills on Lennoxtown headlessly with 20kg weights on their backs.

"It's not what we're doing but what people have to appreciate is pre-season is a really important part of what you do and we just didn't have any of these guys in pre-season."

Asked if he was aware of past injury problems at the club and any potential issues with the performance department, he added: "I can't really comment on what's happened in the past, that would be unfair on me to talk about past processes.

"The managers involved had their own ways of doing things."
