Ange Postecoglou breaks Celtic manager silence as top target makes 'what if' admission

Top Celtic target Ange Postecoglou insists he's fully focused on his role with Yokohama F. Marinos but refused to deny links with the Parkhead job.

The Greek is in advanced talks to take over as manager after the long-running Eddie Howe pursuit ended in failure.

With time ticking until the Champions League qualifiers time is of the essence for Celtic but Postecoglou is still in situ at Yokohama.

But speaking after a win over Shimizu S-Pulse the 55-year-old refused to rule out a move to the Scottish Premiership.

Postecoglou said: "Everyone knows me, knows that my focus is always on what’s in front of me.

"I’ve understood there’s some speculation around the future, but I’ve stopped thinking about the what-ifs in the world a long time ago.

“My focus the last couple of days has been on making sure we play well today.

"My focus is here.

"This is the job I’ve got, and I’ve always done that my whole career.

"I’m just focused on the job I have and making sure I do it well — or else other people will decide my future.”
