Ange Postecoglou and Michael Beale sit together as Celtic and Rangers bosses 'awkward' moment has fans saying same thing

Ange Postecoglou and Michael Beale were caught up in an awkward interaction ahead of Celtic facing Rangers for the Viaplay Cup.

Postecoglou's men will look to defend their crown at the National Stadium while Beale hopes to claim his first trophy since stepping into the Ibrox hot seat during Sunday's blockbuster showdown. The rival bosses have been battling for the Scottish Premiership crown since the Londoner replaced Gio van Bronckhorst but both have the chance this weekend to claim the first piece of silverware on offer in the Scottish football calendar.

The pair have had an exchange through the media already after Beale branded the Australian "lucky" due to the funds he has at his disposal at Celtic, with Postecoglou responding to his counterpart, admitting he's fortunate to be at the Parkhead club. That was during their routine weekly pre-match press conferences at their respective clubs but the pair came face to face for media duties ahead of the cup final for the sponsors - when they were introduced at the pre-match press conference together.

The pair faced the media together initially, with cameras catching the duo uncomfortably seated together. However, without a word being spoken the duo were separated before Beale took the Rangers duties first at the national stadium.

Celtic and Rangers fans were quick to point out the tension between the gaffers. One tweeted sarcastically: "They look ecstatic."

Another chimed in "that's extremely strange" before a confused Celtic fan added: "Ange looks bemused to say the least!"

Michael Beale and Ange Postecoglou were promoting Viaplay’s exclusively live coverage of the Viaplay Cup Final between Rangers and Celtic on Sunday from 2pm. Viaplay is available to stream from viaplay.com or via your TV provider on Sky, Virgin TV and Amazon Prime as an add-on subscription.
