Ange Postecoglou insists he’s “very confident” that Celtic will complete a “few” deals before the end of the transfer window.
The Hoops boss is desperate to bolster his squad after suffering frustration in the early part of time at Parkhead.
Postecoglou was forced to wait for new signings as they completed time in quarantine and admitted they weren’t prepared for their Champions League qualifier.
But things have turned around and he talked up progress on the transfer front, despite reports a bid has been rejected for Croatian right back Josip Juranovic.
Postecoglou - who is without Ryan Christie through injury for Europa League play off first leg tie against AZ Alkmaar - said: “We just need players and I've said that consistently from the start.
"We're working hard. It's not an easy market to get deals done. I can at least now confidently give a deadline because the deadline is actually coming up.
"I'm pretty confident we'll have players in before the transfer deadline. Not pretty confident - I'm very confident.
"It's just a matter of timing and getting things done. It's not as straight forward as it used to be.
"We're very close to a few deals I think. We just need to keep doing what we're doing. Stay focused and disciplined.
"Make sure we get the right players in and once we do it'll help us enormously because we're putting a big workload on a core group of players at the moment”.
Celtic have reportedly had a bid of just over £2 million thrown out for Legia Warsaw for Juranovic, who is valued at £2.5 million by the Poles.
Postecoglou said: “He would be one of a number of right full-backs we would have been linked with over the period I have been here.
"It's obviously an area where we definitely need some cover. At the moment Anthony Ralston is doing an outstanding job and I think there's more in him to improve - but he can't play every game.
"It's definitely an area we need to strengthen and it's an area we're targeting. But to nail it down to one person - that's now how we're working.
"We're working on multiple targets in each position because the way the market is at the moment there's just no guarantee of getting anything over the line.
"That's probably why we've been linked with so many people. In terms of deals done - nothing is done yet.”
