Ange Postecoglou was coy when asked about a potential swap deal for Kevin Nisbet.
Celtic have again been linked with a move for the Hibs striker, with suggestions that Leigh Griffiths could be used as a potential makeweight in any deal.
Nisbet was the top scorer at Easter Road last season with 18 goals, while Griffiths doesn’t seem to be getting a look in at Parkhead.
A cash plus player agreement has been mooted, but whether that would appeal to the capital club remains to be seen.
Griffiths has enjoyed two previous loan spells at his boyhood club and could well jump at the chance to return there if he doesn’t feature in Postecoglou ’s plans this season.
A striker is still high on the Australian’s agenda, with discussions ongoing about a move for Greek hitman Georgiois Giakoumakis.
Celtic and Werder Bremen have both reportedly had bids accepted for last year’s Eredivise top scorer.
He would cost around £2.2million, although Hibs will almost certainly be looking for a significantly higher fee for Nisbet having rejected a £3million offer from Birmingham City in January.
Celtic today confirmed the arrival of Croatian right back Josip Juranovic and while Postecoglou was more keen to talk about that arrival, he didn't dismiss the Nisbet rumours out of hand.
He told BBC Scotland: "I ain't quashing, or denying or confirming, y'know.
"I was really happy to talk about Josip today because I'd been sitting on the fence with one, I don't like sitting on the fence.
"I prefer to talk about the ones we have done, there is still some work we're doing off the field, hopefully we will be able to make some announcements in the next few days."
Asked if he was confident of more new faces arriving, Postecoglou replied: “Absolutely. For sure.”
