Road closures were put in place and Arriva diverted buses via Priory Rd, Breck road, Belmont Rd, West Derby Rd, then back on to Lower Breck Rd. The road closures have now been lifted and traffic has returned to normal in the area.

"On arrival, crews found a fire in a ground floor flat. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire with high pressure hose reels. Crews then ventilated the property and completed home fire safety checks while in attendance.

"Merseyside Police and North West Ambulance Service were also in attendance at the incident. One person was assessed at the scene by paramedics and conveyed to hospital for further treatment. MFRS crews left the scene at 12.54pm."
