Anerley station: Person dies after being hit by train during rush hour at London Overground station

A person has died after being hit by an Overground train in south-east London station during rush hour this morning.

Emergency services were called to Anerley station in the borough of Bromley at around 7.20am.

British Transport Police officers and paramedics attended but the person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have not revealed the person's gender and are working to identify them to inform their family.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious.

The Overground was part suspended during rush hour between West Croydon and Sydenham after the incident.

All lines between New Cross Gate and Norwood Junction were also closed while Anerley and Penge West station were not being served by Southern trains.
