Andy Whyment sparks complete chaos with cryptic snap as Corrie resumes filming

Andy Whyment has teased a glimpse at the latest Coronation Street scripts as filming has finally resumed following the coronavirus pandemic.

The much-loved soap star, 39, told his loyal followers that he was "excited" as he shared a snippet of the new scripts to his Instagram.

Andy, who plays the lovable character Kirk Sutherland on the award-winning soap recently revealed that the cast and crew would be returning to TV screens sooner rather than later.

Thankfully, the new storylines will unfold in time before the rationed out episodes will end.

Teasing his beloved fans, the actor posted a cryptic snap of two upcoming scripts which simply read ' Coronation Street ' at the top.

While the papers didn't delve into any further details, it was enough to make fans go completely wild in the comments.

To accompany the sneak peak, Andy penned: "'New scripts EXCITED," followed by a string of smiley faces and a thumbs up emoji.

"I have never been so excited about anything in my life! This has completely made my day!" one ecstatic follower wrote.

"Yay! So happy you'll be back on our screens with some new storylines soon Andy!" a second echoed.

"This is the best news! You say you're excited, but you could never be as excited as me right now" another insisted.

Andy's exciting news comes after Corrie bosses confirmed that the soap's production team began a health and safety induction recently.

This was put in place to familiarise cast and crew members with the new safety guidelines which have been put in place throughout the studios and on the set.

The new protocols are in accordance with the recently issued TV production guidelines which will be observed whilst filming Coronation Street.

When filming resumes, bosses will aim to air three episodes a week to ensue the soap does not go off air.

The return to filming will ensure the soap stays on air in July.

Other measures have been put in place relating to cast and crew members who are over the age of 70.

Individuals with any underlying health condition will be kept at home during the early stages.

We can't wait to see the new stories unfold!

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30pm on ITV.
