Andy Whyment is the runner-up in I’m A Celebrity 2019 – as Jacqueline Jossa is crowned the queen of the jungle

Andy Whyment has finished in second place in I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!.

The Coronation Street star, 38, was a late addition to the show - joining with EastEnders actor Cliff Parisi entering the jungle in the fifth episode.

His determination during the tasks saw him win over fans of the show and slowly become a firm favourite in the line up.

He was scooped to the winning title by former EastEnders actress Jacqueline Jossa while Capital Breakfast host Roman Kemp came third.

Speaking about his placement as a runner-up in the show, he told presenters Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly: "I feel amazing. Jac is an amazing woman, I hope she gets everything she deserves in life because she's amazing.

Winner: Andy hugs Jacqueline at the moment she is announced the winner of I'm A Celebrity 2019 (ITV)

"I'm so chuffed for her. It's been a mad experience in there but something that I will never, ever forget. Look at her - it means the world to her."

During the Celebrity Cyclone challenge, he was branded "The Terminator" by viewers after facing a barrage of water, wind and inflatables on a slippery hill to grab the coveted gold stars.

No hard feelings: Andy was delighted for his friend (ITV)

Despite his fellow celebrities - Roman Kemp, Kate Garraway and Jacqueline - finding it difficult to battle through the elements, he bounded fiercely up the hill, knocking the obstacles out of the way en route.

In the Celebrities Assemble task - where he and Kate battled an assault course to free Jacqueline - he won over fans with his hilarious cockroach costume.

His dry wit as well saw him entertain his fellow camp mates while his chirpiness kept everyone's spirits up.
