Andy Whyment overwhelmed with joy as he reunites with wife and kids after I'm A Celeb

Andy Whyment was one very emotional dad and husband when he finally reunited with his wife and kids at the Gold Coast's Palazzo Versace hotel on Monday morning.

The Coronation Street star, 38, looked completely overwhelmed as his two children - Thomas, 11, and Hollie, 9, bombarded him with cuddles after spending three weeks apart before he was crowned this year's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! runner-up,

He broke down in tears in the jungle as he was do desperate to win a photo of his family, revealing it was "tough" being away from Nichola, 32, and his son and daughter.

The actor - who quickly became a show favourite - stepped out of a car at the hotel where he was overjoyed to be reunited with his loved ones.

Andy was still dressed in his camp attire while the others wore vibrant outfits as they'd been enjoying some time soaking up the sun as they waited for him to return from the jungle.

Nichola was beaming with pride as the family of four posed together for a series of photos when the actor pulled up to the five-star hotel.

Andy and Nichola got together 14 years ago and married in 2007.

He previously gushed about his wife to OK! Magazine, saying: "She's gorgeous! I'm a very lucky bloke, we've been together 14 years and we just don't argue, we get on so well."

Mirror Online exclusively revealed his wife was desperate to hug him after he shed tears on the show – and confessed that they spoke every day for 16 years before he travelled to Australia.

At the time, Nichola said: "It really upset us to see Andy upset, when you see him laughing and joking it makes it so much easier as I know he is enjoying the experience.

"I knew it would mean an awful lot to him to get the photograph of the family.

"Hollie cried because he didn't get a roast dinner so there would have been tears for sure if he didn't get his package.

"Honestly, I can't wait to get to Australia so we are at least in the same country as him. I am hoping that I don't cry and make a show of myself when I first see him but I will most definitely be giving him a big kiss and hug."
