Andy Whyment breaks silence on I'm A Celebrity's shakeup with sweet throwback snap

Andy Whyment has shared his thoughts on the unprecedented shakeup of the new location for I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!.

The iconic ITV reality show will be filmed from the UK for the time time ever due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

As The Mirror revealed back in July, the coronavirus and the resulting travel restrictions were a huge concern for show bosses, but they had tried their hardest to ensure the series was still filmed in Australia.

While bosses ventured down every possible avenue, border restrictions mean that ITV will now bring the stars to a remote rural castle ruin in the UK for the series in November.

After huge success in the jungle last year, Coronation Street star Andy Whyment has broken his silence on the major I'm A Celeb changes.

Taking to Instagram, he told his 398,000 followers that he was ridiculously excited to see what the upcoming series had to offer.

Alongside a sweet snap of the 2019 crew, which included Queen of the Jungle Jacqueline Jossa and finalists Roman Kemp and Kate Garraway, Andy insisted that he will always be a huge fan of the show.

The Corrie favourite penned: "The wrap party in Australia, it’s mad to think the show is gonna be done in the UK this year due to COVID.

"But I’m really excited to watch it as I’m sure you all know how much of a massive fan I am of the show.

"It’s certainly gonna be different but it’ll still be as amazing as it always is I’m sure."

Unprecedented border restrictions have meant that it would be impossible to bring the line-up of celebrities and their loved ones to New South Wales in Australia, where the show has been held since it began in 2002.

While there will be many changes in the upcoming series, fans can breathe a sigh of relief because dynamic duo At McPartlin and Dec Donnelly, who have presented the show for 20 years, will be returning for the 2020 series.

It's not yet confirmed who will star in the exciting new series, but stars such as Tommy Fury, Maya Jama and Lacey Turner have all been tipped to battle it out in the Bushtucker Trials.

Coronation Street legend Beverley Callard was the first to apparently officially sign up to the 2020 series, with other possible stars including Strictly Come Dancing's AJ Pritchard and Manchester United superstar Eric Cantona.
