Andy Walker warns Celtic duo they could face Rangers Old Firm 'pressure' amid injury-laden Ibrox trip

Andy Walker has suggested that Celtic duo Anthony Ralston and Yuki Kobayashi will have a plethora of eyes watching their every move when the Hoops travel to Ibrox on Saturday lunchtime.

Celtic haven't lost to Rangers in eight league meetings, with their previous downfall on Govan soil coming in Ange Postecoglou's first ever Old Firm derby. Such is their dominance, that Rangers' only win over the Hoops since then was in last season's Scottish Cup semi-final. And having not lost at Ibrox in their previous two attempts, Postecoglou will be looking to make it a hat-trick without losing just south of the Clyde.

But Cameron Carter-Vickers, widely considered as Celtic's best defender, and Alistair Johnston, who picked up a Man of the Match award in his last league outing against the Gers, are both out of action - which could throw a spanner in the works for Postecoglou.

The Australian will instead have to turn to Ralston and Kobayashi. The former has Old Firm experience, but Kobayashi has yet to play a single minute against the Light Blues, instead being on the bench three times since his January move. And Andy Walker has claimed that the microscope will fall upon the duo as they aim to avoid dropping points to earn even more bragging rights.

He told Go Radio: “Celtic are settled, slick, they play a good style of football and you know you are going to get plenty of energy everywhere on the pitch.

"Maybe the one player who will be under pressure is (Yuki) Kobayashi, as he's taken the place of such a brilliant defender in (Cameron) Carter-Vickers. He will come under a bit of pressure, as will (Anthony) Ralston, as they have just come back into the team."
