Andy Walker in Rangers and Celtic mystery as Sky Sports regular absent from derby duty

Mystery surrounds Andy Walker's absence from Sky Sports' coverage of Rangers ' derby win over Celtic.

The broadcaster's go-to Scottish football co-commentator was missing in action at Ibrox on Sunday.

The former Parkhead striker was replaced by James McFadden who provided in-game analysis alongside Walker's usual gantry colleagues, Ian Crocker and Rangers legend Ally McCoist.

In the studio, Ibrox favourite Kris Boyd partnered former Celtic star Stiliyan Petrov with host Eilidh Barbour.

Walker has been a regular derby day fixture and some supporters were puzzled by his omission from the Premiership champions' 4-1 win over their city rivals.

A few took to Twitter to question why the normally ever-present Walker wasn't among the team providing coverage.

@J1872READY asked: "What’s the deal with Andy Walker then?"

@DRMonty70 said: "No Andy Walker on @ScotlandSky today."

@dunky1991 said: "Where is Andy Walker can't he handle the pressure?"

@GreigC22 said: "Actually quite enjoying the Sky coverage today too without Walker."

@dave_n64 wrote: "No Andy Walker today."

Record Sport Online has contacted Sky Sports for comment.
