Andy Ruiz Jr calls for Anthony Joshua trilogy after Brit wins heavyweight rematch

Andy Ruiz wants to take on Anthony Joshua for a third time.

Joshua won back his world heavyweight titles in their heavyweight rematch in Saudi Arabia.

Ruiz stunned the boxing world in June but Joshua delivered a boxing masterclass to claim victory on points.

The Brit was the clear winner but Ruiz has set his sights on a third fight, which would see the pair produce a trilogy.

Speaking after the fight, Joshua was asked if he would be keen on a third bout.

The Brit said: "Without a doubt. If you heard, we are going to do a third.

"First of all, I want to thank God. Next I want to say 'man, the first time was so nice, I had to do it twice'.

"This is about boxing, I am used to knocking people out, but last time I got hurt, so I gave the man his credit, said I would correct myself again, I respect Andy so much.

"The sweet science of this sport is about hitting and not getting hit. Never a change in mentality, you know the saying 'stay hungry, stay humble' - I am hungry and I am humble."

Ruiz added: It was his night. I didn’t prepare how I should have.

"I gained too much weight. I don’t want to give excuses, he won.

"He boxed me around. If we do a third fight you best believe I’m going to get in shape. I’ll be in the best shape of my life.
