Andy Robertson suffers injury setback but will travel on Liverpool US tour

Andy Robertson has undergone surgery on a hand infection - but will be available for Liverpool's tour to the United States next week.

Robertson reported back to Melwood on Saturday morning along with fellow Champions League winners Jordan Henderson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Gini Wijnaldum.

The left-back was sporting a bandage on his right hand having had a minor operation after picking up an infection.

And Robertson was unable to immediately take part in the usual test and drills as Liverpool's medical staff continue to monitor his rehabilitation from the procedure.

The Scotland international will not take part in the Reds' next pre-season friendly at League Two side Bradford City on Sunday afternoon.

However, the problem is not considered serious and Robertson will travel with the squad for the US tour next week.
