Andy Robertson speaks out on "horrible" sight of Mohamed Salah injury as he dedicates Liverpool win to striker

Andy Robertson dedicated Liverpool's dramatic victory over Newcastle United to Mohamed Salah after the “horrible” sight of the attacker being stretchered off at St James' Park.

The Egypt international, who is hopeful of being passed fit to face Barcelona at Anfield on Tuesday night, suffered a blow to the head after a collision with keeper Martin Dubravka.

Andy Robertson reveals two key factors behind Liverpool's late goals and title challenge

At that stage Liverpool were on course for a damaging 2-2 draw but Salah's replacement Divock Origi nodded home a dramatic late winner to keep their title dream alive.

Robertson revealed that Salah was up and able to hold a conversation with his jubilant team-mates when they returned to the dressing room.

“Horrible. It's not nice because he doesn't stay down easily and he doesn't get stretchered off a lot,” Robertson said.

“But I spoke to him in there and he was up to be fair and was awake at least.

"I think it was just concussion or whatever, I'm not a doctor.

“Maybe that knocked us for five minutes but at least we got the win for him.”
