Andy Robertson sets out plan for future and makes Liverpool trophy vow following Premier League win

Liverpool full-back Andy Robertson has said he wants to stay at the club - and has also explained why Anfield is the best place to be right now for both himself and his team-mates.

The Scotsman, who spent Thursday night surrounded by his fellow players celebrating winning the Reds' first ever Premier League title, has vowed he wants to stay on Merseyside and add more trophies to his growing list of honours.

Robertson joined from Hull City in 2017, and since then he has gone on to cement his status as one of the world's best left-backs as well as winning the Champions League, Super Cup, Club World Cup ahead of this latest piece of silverware.

And Liverpool fans will be boosted by the admission made by the 26-year-old when quizzed about his future on Friday morning.

Speaking to TalkSport, Robertson said: "That's my plan [to stay as long as I can] whether I am good enough at 33/34 to continue to do that we will have to wait and see.

"Look, I don't want to go anywhere this club is so special to me in a short space of time. My family love it, I love it.

"And you know I don't want to go anywhere else. There's no better team in the world just know than Liverpool, why would any of us want to leave?

"Like you said we've got a young squad and you're right we have got to be looking at the next five years and add more and more trophies. And think okay [let's] leave with so many trophies and to start with the big two is always good, and it means now we have the freedom and we can go and add to it.

"The feeling we had last night when we were all together to win the Premier League is an amazing feeling and we don't want that to just be a one off or only two times in our career.

"We want that all the time and that is what will drive us forward next season and the seasons after."
