Andy Robertson sends five-word message to Luis Suarez after Liverpool stun Barcelona

Andy Robertson had the last laugh on Tuesday night after Liverpool remarkably reached the Champions League final on an historic night at Anfield.

The Reds went into the second-leg against Barcelona having lost the opening encounter 3-0 and were without key duo Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino for this second-leg.

And they knew they would need to pull off one of the great European comebacks if they were to book a date at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.

They got off to the perfect start on Tuesday when Divock Origi tapped home an early opener, but their task was made harder when Robertson was replaced at half-time.

The Reds left-back needed treatment on the Anfield pitch before replays showed a slight off-the-ball coming together with Luis Suarez.

And that television footage appeared to show the striker deliberately kicking out at the Scotland captain, ultimately ending his evening prematurely.

But it was Robertson who was laughing at full-time after his team-mates mounted an astonishing comeback to win 4-0 on the night and secure a 4-3 aggregate victory.

When asked about the incident, he told BT Sport: "Who’s going to the final? We are. That’s all that matters. Gini went on [for me] and scored two. I don’t care right now.

"I’ve said so many times this season but what a team. We believe. People wrote us off. But we believed if we got off to a good start we could do it.

"Alisson has pulled off some unbelievable saves. Fingers crossed. We go to Sunday full of energy. It’s out of our hands but we’ve seen stranger things happen. Especially tonight."
