Andy Robertson reveals pride at PFA inclusion - but insists he would trade for Liverpool title glory

Andy Robertson has admitted his extreme pride at being selected in the PFA Team of the Year - but insisted he would swap the personal accolade for a trophy with Liverpool this term.

The Reds remain in the hunt for both the Premier League and Champions League inside the final few weeks of the campaign and went back to the top of the table domestically courtesy of a 5-0 drubbing of an already-relegated Huddersfield Town on Friday night.

Next up for Jurgen Klopp's men is Barcelona in the first leg of their European semi-final tie on Wednesday, with Ajax travelling to Tottenham 24 hours earlier in the other last-four tie.

Robertson was one of four Liverpool players who made the cut for the PFA Team of the Year this week alongside Sadio Mane, Virgil van Dijk and fellow full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold.

However, the Scotland captain insists he would trade the recognition for either a sixth European Cup or a 19th league crown over the next five weeks.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain delivers emotional message to Liverpool fans and team-mates after return to action

"It's massive achievement to get voted by your fellow peers and I appreciate the season that I have had," he said.

"I am delighted about that and for the other three lads, it's a fantastic achievement for them, too. But I would swap it for one of trophies we are still fighting for, that's the type of person I am.

"Of course when I reflect at the end of the season, it will be something I am extremely proud of."

Despite just one defeat en route to their amassing of 91 points so far, the Reds' Premier League destiny is out of their own hands, with City set to record their second successive trophy if they win their final three games.

The key Liverpool change that has banished 'fear and desperation' under Jurgen Klopp

First up for Pep Guardiola's men is a tricky-looking fixture at Sean Dyche's Burnley and Robertson has said he will be watching the game come Sunday afternoon.

He added: "It's not going to make a difference to the result if I watch, is it?

James Pearce reacts to Liverpool's 5-0 win over Huddersfield

"I'm not going to out my way to watch the game Sunday if I'm doing something with the kids or whatever. It won't change anything.

"We need them to drop points. We're at the point of the season where if they win all their games, they win the league, it's as simple as that.

"We need to try and get maximum points and hopefully it's enough, but if it is not then we'll have to pick ourselves up."
