Andy Robertson reflects on battle with Liverpool teammate Virgil van Dijk

Amid the growing coronavirus crisis which has forced Premier League stars to self-isolate, Liverpool star Andy Robertson has kept himself busy by holding a Twitter Q&A with fans.

The Scottish superstar, among those quarantined due to the deadly disease, opted to interact with fans via the social media platform on Thursday.

And among the topics he covered was teammate Virgil van Dijk, the two defenders both playing a pivotal role in helping Liverpool move to within two wins of claiming their first league title in 30 years.

Before linking up at Anfield, the pair both plied their trade in Scotland - Robertson with Dundee United and Van Dijk with Celtic, whom he left for Southampton prior to his Reds move.

Once Twitter user post an infamous picture of the pair battling for the ball during their time in the Scottish top-flight and asked: "Do you or Virgil remember this photo six years ago and who do you think won the ball there? #AskRobbo."

Responded with a tongue-in-cheek message, the former Hull defender said: "I won the ball, had him in my back pocket all game!!"

Another user asked: "Which team-mate are you glad you don't have to play against?".

Unsurprisingly Robertson name-checked his Dutch teammate and replied: "He'd head all my crosses clear!".

The left-back also weighed in on the Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo debate, but put a unique spin on it.

"You heard Trent, Hendo!" was his response when asked, referring to teammates Trent Alexander-Arnold and captain Jordan Henderson.

He and Alexander-Arnold have been involved in an internal assists competition for over 18 months now.

The Liverpool academy graduate is a fan favourite at Anfield and is tipped to move into midfield later in his career such is his quality.

So far this season Alexander-Arnold has notched 12 assists - some five more than Robertson.
