Andy Robertson overcomes injury scare as Scotland captain starts Liverpool's Champions League clash with Napoli

Scotland captain Andy Robertson will feature for Liverpool against Napoli on Tuesday evening, overcoming a slight injury scare to feature from the start.

The 25-year-old has started all of the Anfield giants' competitive matches so far this season, his scintillating form and a lack of alternative left-back options meaning he is generally exempt from manager Jurgen Klopp's rotation policy.

The European champions were dealt something of a blow on Monday, however, as it emerged that a slight injury put his prospects of making their all-important Champions League opener into doubt.

“Robbo didn’t train today and we have to see. It is not a major thing, it was more precautionary today, but it is not 100 per cent sure [he will be available]," Klopp said via Liverpool's official website.

“We will have to test it tomorrow [Tuesday] and then we will see.”

It seems he has come through tests with flying colours, as he has been named on the team-sheet in Naples.

Robertson has made seven appearances for Liverpool already this season and assisted Sadio Mane for the opening goal as they kept up their 100% record at Newcastle's expense at the weekend.

He featured in both of Scotland's matches with Russia and Belgium over the international break, and is likely to start at Stamford Bridge again this weekend in what has been a busy start to the season for the former Queen's Park and Dundee United man.
