Andy Robertson in 'ruthless' Liverpool message as he takes no prisoners in Manchester United thrashing

It might have been Mo Salah who grabbed the headlined for Liverpool with his stunning hat-trick against Manchester United.

But Scotland skipper Andy Robertson also showed just what makes him great in an under-the-radar moment following their FIFTH goal.

Jurgen Klopp's team blew United away at Old Trafford with Salah, Diogo Jota and Naby Keita all on target in a crushing win.

It was an eventful game with Cristiano Ronaldo 's strike being VARed off before Paul Pogba saw red after a shocking challenge on Keita.

United fans streamed out of the stadium before most of the drama took place as the Old Trafford stands emptied following Liverpool's fourth - which came before the half-time break.

Any words from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer about winning the second half and keeping it respectable were blown away moments after the restart when Salah bagged his third.

TV footage showing the celebrations then caught some stern words from Robertson.

And the Scotland captain roared to his his teammates "keep going, be ruthless!" - despite being 5-0 up and out of sight.

He was later involved in an altercation with Ronaldo, whose consolation strike was chalked off by VAR.

He stepped between Virgil van Dijk and the United striker and was seen pointing his finger in the face of one of the greatest players of all time.
