Andy Robertson in Liverpool injury sweat as Scotland captain sent for scan on hamstring issue

Liverpool have sent Scotland captain Andy Robertson for a scan on his hamstring injury.

The Anfield giants hope to find out on Wednesday the full extent of the left-back’s fitness issues.

Robertson felt his hamstring at half-time in the vital win over Denmark that saw Scotland clinch top seeding and a home tie for the World Cup play-offs.

The defender played on but had to admit defeat and limped off to be replaced by Scott McKenna for the final 10 minutes or so.

Robertson is now deemed a major doubt for Saturday evening’s clash against Arsenal, who will have fellow Scotland star Kieran Tierney in their ranks.

Tierney had missed several of Arsenal’s games with an ankle issue but managed to come through the wins over Moldova and Denmark unscathed.

Liverpool will be hoping Robertson doesn't have to spend time on the sidelines.

They have a Champions League game with Porto next week but their progress has already been assured on that front so missing that game is not a major issue.
