Andy Robertson has a new nickname for Liverpool team-mate Divock Origi after Merseyside derby heroics

Liverpool left-back Andrew Roberton has heaped praise on Divock Origi for his inspired performance against Everton.

The Belgian striker was one of several eye-catching changes made by Jurgen Klopp as he rotated his squad for the midweek fixture.

However, his decision proved to be vindicated as Origi grabbed a brace in a 5-2 win to secure yet another Merseyside victory for Liverpool at Anfield.

The Reds' number 27 rounded Jordan Pickford for the first after a delightful through ball by Sadio Mane, before sensational plucking out a raking pass from Dejan Lovren to lift the ball over the Everton goalkeeper for his second.

It was another big display from Origi in an important match, something he has made a habit of doing.

He starred in last season's Champions League semi-final win over Barcelona, grabbed an all-important second in the final against Tottenham and, of course, not to forget his last-minute winner against the Blues last season.

With all that in mind, Robertson has praised his teammate on Twitter.

He wrote: "He just loves a big game doesn't he" before posting a series of pictures inferring Origi as the GOAT.

Later he also tweeted: "100 games for LFC. Derby win. Celebration with the GOAT. Perfect night."

Having chopped and changed his starting XI, offering rare starts for Origi, Adam Lallana and Xherdan Shaqiri, with the latter also on the score sheet, Liverpool extended their lead over Manchester City to 11 points once again.

With Leicester City beating Watford 2-0, the Reds' lead at the top of te Premier League table remains at eight points after 15 Premier League matches.
