Andy Robertson hands Liverpool new injury scare after limping off in Scotland victory

Andy Robertson appeared to hand Liverpool another injury scare tonight when the Scotland captain came off late on in their impressive 2-0 victory over Denmark.

With around 13 minutes of the World Cup qualifier at Hampden Park to go, Robertson hit the turf.

The Liverpool left-back was attended to by Scotland physios before hobbling off to be replaced by Scott McKenna.

Reds fans on social media were concerned that Robertson, who handed the armband to Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn, had hurt his hamstring.

But the 27-year-old did appear on the pitch after the match to clap the Scotland supporters, who saw their side end Denmark’s 100% winning record in Group F and secure a home tie in the play-offs.

Liverpool will be hoping the injury is not serious to Robertson given the amount of players manager Jurgen Klopp currently has unavailable or has doubts over.

Captain Jordan Henderson and striker Sadio Mane both picked up injuries while playing for their countries England and Senegal respectively during this international break.
