Andy Robertson hands Liverpool a major injury boost ahead of Champions League Final

Liverpool star Andy Robertson is set to be fit for the Champions League Final.

The left-back had a scan on his right leg and it confirmed that there was no ligament damage or break detected.

The 25-year-old will have further tests on Thursday but the player and Liverpool medical staff believe there is no serious damage.

Robertson came off at half-time after being caught late by Luis Suarez, as Liverpool mounted on of the greatest comebacks of all time to beat Barcelona 4-3 on aggregate at Anfield on Tuesday night.

The former Dundee United star is unlikely to be risked for Liverpool’s final game of the season against Wolves, even though they could win the league if they were to win and Manchester City were to drop points at Brighton.

It is likely veteran James Milner will continue to deputise at left-back at the weekend.

Liverpool’s unlikely hero of sensational Champions League win over Barcelona

That would then give Robertson more than two weeks to be fit for the Champions League Final in Madrid against Tottenham on June 1st.

Robertson will be hoping to go one better than last season when they lost the final to Real Madrid.

Scotland will then be looking to Robertson to lead them into the Euro 2020 qualifiers against Cyprus and Belgium.
