Andy Robertson explains what he is working on after Jurgen Klopp's advice

Andy Robertson has opened up on the area of his game he is working to improve following advice from Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

The 26-year-old left-back is one of the best in the world in his position and helped guide the Reds to Champions League glory last season and the brink of the Premier League title this campaign.

Klopp has voiced his admiration for Scotland captain Robertson in the past, even claiming he has no "negatives" as a player but admitting he could be more confident.

"We can talk about the positive things with Robbo for hours," the German said last year. "If you want to talk about the negatives we'll have to finish now, because there are none.

"Could he be more confident? Maybe yes. But when he's with us he has that confidence, that belief.

"What's he's not is the type of character who wakes up, looks in the mirror and says 'look at me, I'm Andrew Robertson'.

"He doesn't live like that. There's no arrogance to him, not at all. He's a well-educated boy, well brought up, and he comes from Scotland, all of which are good for me."

And Robertson has responded to his manager's praise, admitting he was touched by Klopp's remarks but agreeing he could be more confident.

He did, however, joke that Klopp may reconsider the idea there are no negatives to his game if he saw his right-footed shooting.

Robertson told Sky Sports : "That's one that gets me. For a manager who I think is the best in the world at the minute. I know he's my manager but for him to say that about me is really nice.

"That's what I try to be. He's probably right, could I have more confidence in my ability and myself? Yeah I could. That's something I'm trying to work on.

"He's a fantastic manager. I think I've got negatives, but if he doesn't think so then that's great, but I continue to try and improve every single day, and maybe he's not been watching my right-foot shooting recently.

"He's the father figure of this training ground and this group of boys. He's there for us in every way possible, whether it's on the pitch or off the pitch, and that's why we're so successful, is down to him, and long may that continue."
