Chelsea transfer target Ben Chilwell is one of the best three left-backs in the world, according to Liverpool defender Andy Robertson.
The England international continues to be linked with a move to Stamford Bridge and despite Leicester City's £80m asking price, Sky Sports claim the Blues are moving closer to completing a deal with developments expected 'this week'.
Should a transfer happen in the coming days, Chilwell would be a brilliant signing based on Robertson's verdict regarding the best players in his position.
"I think Alphonso Davies, already world-class but he can only get better," Robertson told BT Sport. "Don’t expect me to be doing that [Davies' assist vs Barcelona] any time in a hurry.
"That was just incredible. It probably took five or six of them out of the game with one passage of play.
"Phenomenal player, somebody I enjoy watching and I think the whole world’s enjoying watching him at the minute and I'm not different.
"Ben Chilwell I love watching in the Premier League.
"Then I would say Jordi Alba, the more experienced one of the three I would say, maybe coming near the end of his career, but what a career he’s had.
"Him and Marcelo probably took left-backs to a whole new level."
Amid reports that the Blues are ‘close’ to sealing a deal for Chilwell after months of speculation, football.london understands that this is premature and a deal for the left-back remains in the balance.
In addition, football.london understands Frank Lampard is desperate for a new left-back, with Chilwell one of several targets, along with Ajax's Nicolas Tagliafico, Atalanta's Robin Gosens, and Real Madrid's Sergio Reguilon.
With that said, Robertson's comments about Chilwell could persuade club director Marina Granovskaia to get a deal done for the Blues head coach.
It's already been a busy summer in west London with Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner arriving from Ajax and RB Leipzig respectively to bolster the squad ahead of next season, while links to Kai Havertz and Jan Oblak continue.
But will Chilwell become signing number three?
