Andy Reid passes Chuck Noll to take sixth place all-time in NFL coaching wins

There’s a record that has been somewhat lost in the fog of an improving Kansas City Chiefs defense, one of the team’s most explosive offenses ever and the greatness of Patrick Mahomes.

With the Chiefs’ 33-28 win over the Ravens on Sunday, Andy Reid has passed the great Chuck Noll for sixth-most wins in NFL history by a head coach. Reid broke the tie he held with Noll for seven days, reaching 210 career wins, including playoffs, and another milestone in his illustrious career. The tiebreaking win came against one of Reid’s former pupils, John Harbaugh, which almost seems fitting.

Reid’s unassuming, always positive demeanor has helped him along to this achievement. He’s tutored many a quarterback to success in Green Bay and Philadelphia, and now he’s doing the same thing with Mahomes. He is quietly one of the greatest coaches ever do it at the NFL level.

To break into the top-five of the all-time wins list, Reid will need to surpass legendary Packers coach Curly Lambeau, who has 229 career wins. That’s a number he could reach early next season. Meanwhile, we’re all very lucky and very happy to have Reid leading the way for the Chiefs and winning games in Kansas City.
